Warehouse Lead-Driver
Location: Plant City, FL
Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor
RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs the hands-on administrative and operational work of the warehouse, and directs the forklift operator to ensure daily loading, unloading, and shipping/receiving activities are completed timely, efficiently, and accurately.
INVENTORY & CYCLE COUNTS
• Performs inventory cycle counts as directed (daily, weekly, monthly) to confirm quantities and BBDs.
• Executes and leads cycle counts; assures accuracy of BBDs, quantities, and batch code corrections.
• Generates weekly inventory reports, including pipeline by item by BBD.
• Documents inventory adjustments on a weekly basis; obtains Warehouse Supervisor approval before adjustments are made.
• Reviews and confirms inventory variances; reports findings to the Warehouse Supervisor.
• Receives all MCF receipts and adjustments into SAP.
SHIPPING, RECEIVING & WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS
• Processes receipts in SAP within 24 hours for Plant City and 48 hours for 3PL warehouses.
• Directs the forklift operator to ensure loading of all shipments, pulling and staging outbound orders three days in advance with correct documentation.
• Directs the forklift operator on unloading of inbound shipments and containers, ensuring seal integrity.
• Accurately records all shipments and receipts on the daily shipping manifest and receiving log.
• Records lot codes for all cases leaving the warehouse.
• Ensures merchandise is rotated on a continuous basis.
• Packing and shipping (including e-commerce); pulls orders and processes customer orders per special requirements (e.g., Amazon.com).
• Prepares sample requests, Q.A. requests, etc. for shipment via parcel service (UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.).
• Must be able to operate machinery, including forklift, as needed.
• Performs miscellaneous tasks such as reworking and repacking.
PLANNING & ADMINISTRATIVE
• Supports production planning.
• Executes transfer orders with carriers; plans and enters transfer orders into SAP.
• Backup purchasing support for entering POs in SAP; enters purchase requisitions for warehouse and office supplies.
• Processes, updates, and tracks claims.
• Maintains tidy, clutter-free floors and supports miscellaneous facility-improvement activities.
FOOD SAFETY AND SECURITY
• Adheres to protective measures regarding Food Safety concerns.
• Supports Food Security of the facility to prevent product tampering and employee endangerment.
• Ensures all drivers and visitors sign in and confirms visitors are on-site for a legitimate reason.
• Checks warehouse and surroundings to meet AIB food-grade facility requirements.
• Completes the weekly cleaning log and trap inspections form.
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a warehouse environment.
• Must be able to operate a forklift; forklift certification preferred.
• Exhibits knowledge of logistics terminology and activities, combined with good business practices.
• Possesses strong organizational skills.
• Ability to use SAP, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with customers, sales, and warehouse personnel.
